Hi, my name is Abigail Mullin, and I am from Pittsburgh, PA. At Georgia Tech, I am majoring in Materials Science and Engineering with the long-term goal of becoming an industry scientist focusing on biosensors to increase health care accessibility. I am beginning my Tech journey through the FYSA at Oxford program.

Here are a few of my favorites: the color pink, dachshund dogs, the TV series Homeland, Lucky Charms cereal, Cherry Coke, and macaroni and cheese. Hiking is my preferred pastime, but if I am not hiking, I am likely to be playing frisbee, skiing, or making friendship bracelets. I consider myself to have the best job in the world teaching ski lessons. In the last year, I have picked up jogging after being severely peer-pressured into signing up for a race. To my great surprise, I now rather enjoy this activity. I have two must-see destinations during my time abroad. First, I wish to see Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Chipping Norton, which were heavily featured in the television show Clarkson’s Farm. Second, I will be visiting the Steelers Bar in Rome.

I am keeping this blog in conjunction with my English 1101 course, which focuses on travel and the personal essay.
